Business intelligence analyst / Tableau Lead Developer/Journeyman computer Programmer

Must be either a US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident Alien status with three or more years of U.S. residency as a Permanent Resident Alien is required. Someone with a current Active IRS Minimum Background Investigation MBI/ 58C Tier 2RS clearance is highly preferred, that would be someone who has worked at the IRS within the last two years. If the candidate does not have an IRS MBI, they must be able to get one before they start.
This position is a combination remote/work at home and work at the IRS office. Depending on the needs of the business, the worker may need to work at the IRS building in New Carrollton, MD 10% of the time and must be within 2 hours commute time to DC area. This can vary from week to week.
Statement of Work:
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will administer the various tax provisions included in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), many of which either add to or amend the tax code, and several that require the IRS to build new tax administration processes that do not currently exist. The IRS Affordable Care Act (ACA) Coverage Data Repository (CDR) and Information Returns Database (IRDB) project will create a data repository to serve as the backbone for more than 16 other ACA projects. This will include acting as the operational database for ACA projects; storing data from ACA projects; and making data available to IRS systems, Health and Human Services (HHS) and other external organizations.
Task Description:
As a Business Objects and Tableau lead developer this individual will provide technical expertise and support for a large federal program with multiple components including database ETL API and Business Objects reporting. As part of the reporting/data team this role will focus on the delivery of ACA centric information from all multiple sources including the incorporation of data from a multitude of Current Production Environment (CPE) IRS systems. Delivery of this information will be by utilizing standard IRS Enterprise products SAP's Infoview for Business Objects for reporting and TABLEAU for data analytics. The candidate will have an understanding of Agile software development practices delivering deployable software in short sprints.
Duties:
Job Duty 1 - 30% Design and development of analytics using Tableau
Job Duty 2 - 30% Tableau Desktop (dashboard creation report authoring and troubleshooting data source management).
Job Duty 3 - 10% Analyze requirements design business objects reports develop SDD support requirements traceability.
Job Duty 4 - 20% Extensive data analysis
Job Duty 5 - 10% Develop user documentation/training.
Required skills/Level of Experience :
1) Demonstrated experience in design and development of analytics using Tableau and SAP Business Objects .- 5 years
2. Should be able to proficiently work on Tableau Desktop (dashboard creation report authoring and troubleshooting data source management). - 3 years
3. Should be in position to recommend best practices for building data visualizations using Tableau - 5 years""
4. Proficient with SQL and DBMS (Oracle/ Greenplum) - 3 years
5. Experience working with users to analyze requirements and design appropriate Business Objects reports - 5 years
6. An IRS Medium Risk MBI/ 58C Tier 2RS is required by day one.
Nice to have skills:
1. Prior IRS experience, knowledge of IRS business systems and data
