Job Title: IT Business Analyst (Sr. level possible depending on experience level)

Dept: IT Operations

Position Location: 1000 St. Albans Dr. Raleigh, NC 27609. This role is considered hybrid.


Your impact:


As an IT Business Analyst, you'll have the opportunity to use your analytical and creative problem-solving talents as well as your strong interpersonal skills and IT knowledge to help lead technology services delivery. You'll coordinate the planning and execution of IT related upgrades and implementations as well as the change and release management programs. You'll also have the opportunity to leverage your consultative skills as you partner with the IT departments, vendors, and business units to identify new products enhancements, assess risk, and communicate recommendations. Regular and adequate reporting to Credit Union leadership on the status of major technological initiatives, progress on tasks, and issues of concern is a key aspect of this role.

The contributions you can anticipate making:


Leading IT upgrades and implementations


Analyzing, planning, and coordinating the implementation of IT related upgrades and implementations while ensuring they're completed to specifications, and within established time frames and budget.


Assigning and overseeing the daily tasks of technical staff while working toward established milestones.


Holding regular team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges.


Determining and defining clear deliverables, roles, and responsibilities for technical staff.


Assisting with the creation and scoring of the RFP process for new systems.


Coordinating Change Management:


Leading the change management activities within a structured process framework.

Analyzing change events to ensure minimal member impact. This includes evaluating the change events and their impact to one another and the date and time of their implementation.


Evaluating the risk and impact of a change and providing guidelines to reduce impact.


Maintaining and communicating IT blackout or "freeze" dates.


Facilitating the change approval process and ensuring approvals by business owners.


Collaborating with the Change Advisory Board for final approval.


Taking ownership of the change event process by continually reviewing the process, recommending improvements, and confirming all change events follow the process.


Tracking and documenting changes for functional and IT business specifications.


Coordinating Release Management:


Facilitating the yearly release planning with technology teams.

Defining the release management process and documenting procedures.

Collaborating with IT management and PMO on release calendar.

Providing technical consultation to release teams.


Enhancing communication by:


Creating and maintaining workflows, approval processes, and validation rules based on internal stakeholder requirements.


Translating and simplifying business requirements.


Sharing, and communicating to IT management, any change management conflicts and resolutions.


Keeping IT management informed on the updates of IT related upgrades or implementations, including detailed reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.


Communicating proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and assist with implementing efficiency improvements.


Writing detailed procedures for permanent records and training use.


Defining and documenting IT business functions and processes.


Coordinating projects:


Creating plans, coordinating resources, and managing timelines/deadlines/schedules.


Identifying needs and requirements, researching functionality, and assisting with the creation and scoring of the RFP process for new systems.

Experience:


At least three years of Systems or Business Analyst experience or equivalent experience with managing, configuring and troubleshooting systems that perform critical financial transactions.

Experience working with relational database systems such as Microsoft SQL

Experience managing vendor and partner relationships

Experience with change control and release management activities

Experience working with project management


Education:


College degree preferred in computer science/technology or business administration, or equivalent experience.
