Job Description
The Behavioral Health Program Director (BHPD) is an integral part of the management team reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and responsible for the integration and management of behavioral health services at Coast Community Health Center. The BHPD will facilitate the development and ongoing operations for the health centers behavioral health program in collaboration with key clinical and operational and management team members. The BHPD oversees substance use disorder treatment, mental health treatment, psychosocial wellness initiatives, education and support to health center patients. The BHPD will also be responsible for providing direct patient services within their scope of practice.

Behavioral Health Program Director

Operates as a member of the CCHC management team and manages Behavioral Health staff and Health and Wellness Manager Oversee the provision of individual and group counseling, co-occurring assessments, brief interventions, case management and coordination, and crisis stabilization, and provide direct services as needed to ensure quality patient care at all clinical sites; Assists in selection of behavioral health screening tools and internal/external referral processes; Collaborate and coordinate with local community partners and other behavioral health programs in the area, including school districts;A. Behavioral Health Management

Development, supervision, and coordination of behavioral health programs and services in collaboration with health center leadership; Collaborate with COO, CMO and clinical team to develop effective strategies for addressing unmet behavioral health needs; Provide or acquire up to date training on best practices in behavioral health Perform chart reviews and facilitate peer review to assess for fidelity to evidence-based practices; Obtain and utilize patient and provider feedback to inform practices and program workflow;

B. Patient Care Provides behavioral health services within their scope of practice through warm hand offs and brief therapy

Collaborates with clinical team to advocate for patient needs and work with complicated co-occurring conditions

Utilizes a variety of evidence based behavioral health modalities including motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy

Maintain client records as required by state, federal, local and program standards/funding requirements;C. Community Collaboration Collaborates with medical, mental health, social, determinate of health services and clinical team to provide necessary behavioral health case management services and coordinate treatment/service planning;



| SUPPORTING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete compliance training, budget reports, patient documentation and all other work tasks in a timely manner

Manage and report budget to management team

Attend meetings, team huddles, and assigned trainings.

In a timely manner address correspondence, which includes but is not limited to Outlook, EHR encounters, in-office correspondence.

Utilize resources to remain informed of organizational communication (i.e. Huddle, white board, Weekly Tide Report, etc.).

Comply with all policies, procedures, guidelines, and workflows.

Perform safe work practices to protect the health and safety of employees and patients per OSHA regulation.

Protect individually identifiable health information per HIPAA regulation.

Proper and timely documentation in EMR.

Complete all required compliance training within the established timeline.

Utilize the incident reporting system as needed.

Other duties as assigned.
