We are looking for a Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our staff in a state-of-the-art, 24/7 distribution warehouse in Waukegan, IL . We need someone with a hefty amount experience servicing material handling equipment and are interested in a leadership role.
What You’ll Do
In this job, you will provide guidance and direction to more junior technicians and will also assist in troubleshooting and designing solutions for difficult problems relating to the material handling equipment. This includes troubleshooting power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and materials. In order to promote safe work practices, you will implement and enforce preventative maintenance programs and ensure timely training. You will also develop plans to accomplish departmental and distribution goals with a priority on “Safety First.”
What We Need
The ideal candidate (you!) will possess advanced knowledge of NEC, CMMS, and PLC programs and will be able to troubleshoot difficult problems related to relay logic, ladder diagrams, and control components (photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, servo drives, etc.). You should be familiar with components (CPU back plains, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices), communication modules (Ethernet), and have at least 4 years of experience in electrical/electronic principles and be able to read electrical schematics.
You will need to have advanced knowledge of electrical components and their function in a control system, including the use of compressors and other pneumatic devices. As this is a leadership role, you should have a proven track-record of providing team guidance and mentorship. We also require a high school diploma, a degree from a vocational school, or the equivalent.
