We are looking for a Control Systems Lead to work at a state-of-the-art, 24/7 distribution warehouse in Vacaville, CA. We need someone with PLC/PC controllers experience who can help lead the team who maintain the material handling equipment (conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, HMI systems, and control cabinets).
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will be responsible for providing advanced operations and maintenance services to automation control systems (including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems).
As a lead, you will be the first person of contact to troubleshoot or modify programming and act as escalation support for the control systems technician team, appropriately escalating downtime situations to either vendors or headquarters in order to make sure the equipment is up and running quickly. You’ll utilize FC System Assessment reports to improve material handling system performance by maintaining and repairing identified deficiencies and monitor the equipment metrics. When you find technical issues, you would communicate them with building leadership, and the operation and maintenance teams. You will also explain production impacts and work closely with operations and engineering to ensure a thorough understanding of impact to systems.
What We Need
The ideal candidate will have lead or management experience and will be familiar with PLCs and their components. You should possess advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, since you will identify, maintain, modify, and troubleshoot Allen Bradley RS Logix 5000 PLCs. Preferably, you would have experience with industrial robots and advanced control systems (especially programming).
We need someone who can identify and maintain robotic system components, and troubleshoot HMI components, control network components, and motor controls (including motor starters, variable frequency drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components). On the job, you will interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and utilize SCADA systems and KPIs. An Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology or related field or equivalent experience is desired.
You must have hands-on industrial electrical experience and experience troubleshooting 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems. We require a high school diploma or the equivalent. This job will require you to perform various physical tasks, some of which will be repetitive and require dexterity.
