Job Description

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) is responsible for providing counseling to residential and non-residential clients and walk-in clients. The LCSW/LCPC is the primary interface for access services such as peer/family counseling and support, screening, assessment, brief treatment, consultative services, education and engagement, linkages, outreach, and advocacy. The LCSW/LCPC will oversee the Case Management work of Case Managers and Advocates who provide direct support and advocacy services geared to enhancing the development, problem-solving, and coping capacities of people; provide resources and services to people; linking people with systems that provide them with resources, services, and opportunities; information and referrals to outside agencies and to the legal department as appropriate and the LCSW/LCPC will coordinate/oversee the work of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) workers and Intensive Outpatient Clinic assigned.

Responsibilities:

· Provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients as assigned.

· Preform compressive assessments for mental health, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, domestic violence and medical needs. Conduct follow-up as appropriate based on results of evaluation.

· Provide early interventions and referrals to specialty mental health services, including referral for more intensive psychological or psychiatric support services, if needed.

· Maintain client records, including all mandated agency forms in accordance agency policy, state Confidentiality and HIPPA laws. Keep all records and information confidential. Maintain confidentiality regarding privileged administrative and client information in a professional manner.

· Conducts ongoing periodic evaluation and at exit of program for all clients. Conduct patient satisfaction surveys with all patients receiving services. Also, participate in program development and evaluation, and collect and compile data as required by program.

· Completing tasks and projects assigned by leadership team.

· Handles client concerns with regards to counseling issues.

· Maintain and update professional knowledge and proficiency through continued training, staff meetings, and workshops.

· And any other duties assigned.

Supervisor responsibilities:

· Ensure that a supervisee is practicing within the scope of the supervisee's license.

· Determine the skill level at which the supervisee may practice.

· Focus on raw data from the supervisee's social work practice.

· Maintain documentation, for at least 5 years of the supervisory sessions, including the dates, duration, and focus of the supervisory sessions.

· Provide or ensure that a supervisee receives a minimum of 3 hours of face-to-face supervision per month or 1 hour of face-to-face supervision for every 40 hours worked.

· Ensure that a supervisee has read and is knowledgeable about Health Occupations Article, Title 19, Annotated Code of Maryland, and COMAR 10.42.01—10.42.09.

· Within a reasonable period before termination of supervision, provide the supervisee and employer with a notice of termination to avoid or minimize any harmful effect on the supervisee's clients or patients.

· Provide for emergency supervision and direction to a supervised by a Board-approved supervisor.

· Complete the supervision verification form.

· Provide a written evaluation of the supervisee's progress to the supervisee every 6 months.

· Provide a copy of the documentation required by Regulation .04 of this chapter: (a) On request by the supervisee; and (b) On request, by the Board or its authorized agent.

· Comply with a Board audit of a supervisor's compliance with regard to the supervision requirements and supervisory responsibilities.

· Provide group supervision.

· Training of staff on policies and procedures.

· And any other duties assigned.
