Manager, Software Engineering at CRIO

  • Directly manage software engineers on one or more agile scrum teams.
  • Collaborate with product leadership, UX and QA to understand and manage our projects.
  • Provide career guidance and mentoring to our engineers.
  • Develop new SAAS products and functionality hosted in the cloud.
  • Provide design and architectural influence to our product development.
  • Participate in agile backlog grooming and planning sessions.
  • Participate in code review and design sessions.
  • Stay current with industry trends, and bring the best of these into our engineering practices


Leadership Skills
  • 5+ years of engineering management experience.
  • Ability to connect with engineers and teams, and to inspire trust and collaboration in them.
  • Ability to lead while contributing as part of a collaborative agile team.
  • Appreciation for agile, incremental planning and delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence teams, stakeholders, and leadership as needed.
  • Strong focus on team effectiveness, results and customer success.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in terms of identifying and resolving problems.
  • Passionate about technology and staying current with industry trends.
  • Natural tendency towards continuous improvement for self and team.

Technical Skills
  • 10+ years developing cloud-hosted SaaS applications
  • Knowledge of Javascript, CSS, jQuery and HTML5
  • Knowledge of Java web technologies.
  • Experience with relational databases.
  • Experience with unit testing and test-driven development.
  • Experience with integration test frameworks.
  • Experience working in a CI/CD environment.
  • Understanding of scalability, performance and security concerns and strategies.
  • Proven ability to design extensible and maintainable software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with healthcare or life science industries
  • Experience with 21CFR11, HIPAA, and GDPR regulatory conformance
