We're looking for someone to join our team as a Medical Records Manager who:

In conjunction with the Director of Patient Access, the Medical Records Manager (MRM) is responsible for successfully managing the organizational and administrative operations of the Medical Records Department. They will direct, establish, and plan the overall policies and goals for the Medical Records Department in support of the Clinica Sierra Vista’s (CSV) strategic objectives. The MRM supports CSV culture transformation to improve health outcomes, improve the patient experience, and reduce wastes. The MRM functions with financial understanding of operating a business. This position provides strategic planning, oversight and development of medical records strategies including maximization and use of technologies, processes, and staff. Operational oversight daily demand forecasting, staff planning, establishment of performance metrics, ongoing quality monitoring and implementation of continual performance improvement processes. The MRM provides professional development, coaching and counseling of medical records staff. This role promotes the Clinica Sierra Vista Production System (CSVPS) and ensures operational efficiency through daily management, monitoring and reporting of all health center objectives.


Essential Functions (Please see attached job description for full list of essential functions and qualifications):


  1. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization
    1. Establishes, reviews, and updates short and long-term goals to be consistent and aligned to achieve the goals and strategic plan of CSV
    2. Establishes specific and necessary planning, control and performance improvement mechanisms that monitors patient care, administrative and economic outcomes
  2. Directs the overall activities of the Medical Record Department by:
    1. Interviewing, selecting new staff and coordinating training of new and established medical records staff.
    2. Establishing specific & necessary planning.
    3. Maintaining, training, and evaluating staff.
    4. Developing and maintaining control mechanisms that monitor patient care and administrative and economic outcomes.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s in Business or Health Management degree. Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  2. Registered Health Information Administrator or Registered Health Information Technician preferred.
  3. Three (3) to Five (5) years progressive management experience, ideally including frontline management and some support functions preferred.
  4. Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista’s employee health/immunization requirements or provide a valid exemption request for subsequent approval.
