Job Responsibilities Include:
Monitor and oversee coding staff (15-20 team members)
Perform regular audits on coder performance and quality
Ensure timely submission of claims and communicate with account managers on escalations
Develop and implement coding protocols with the staff to ensure maximum coding
Participate in meetings to discuss coding suggestions with providers and clinic staff as needed
Provide reporting to managers of consolidated escalations and common errors.
Prepare and release weekly reporting on issues pending clinic review.
Host training sessions with coding staff and AR staff.
Serve as main point of coding questions for management staff.
Familiar with coding for multiple specialties included by not limited to:
- Family Medicine
- Internal Medicine
- Physical Therapy
- General Surgery
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Urgent Care
- Pain Management
- ENT Surgery
- Behavioral Health
NextGen Office (huge plus)
Moderate Expertise in Excel
AAPC Certified (or equivalent with AHIMA)
3-5 years of experience with professional fee coding/ambulatory care coding
