Job Description

General Description:

The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is a specialized research professional working with and under the direction of the clinical Investigator. While the Investigator is primarily responsible for the overall design, conduct, and management of the clinical trial, the CRC supports, facilitates and coordinates the daily clinical trial activities and plays a critical role in the conduct of the study. By performing these duties, the CRC works with the Investigator, study team, and sponsor to support and provide guidance on the administration of the compliance, personnel and other related aspects of the clinical study.

 

The clinical research coordinator reports primarily to the Investigator with associated responsibilities to the site director. .

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Understand thoroughly all assigned studies through reading protocols, attending investigator meetings and start-up meetings, and coordinating with Principal Investigator and study team.
  2. Adhere strictly to the study protocol;
  3. Communicate protocol issues to study team, Site Administrator, Director, Principal or Sub-Investigator
  4. Articulate and document all pertinent issues to the PI or document by email/letter or during meetings
  5. Collect initial neuropsychiatric and medical information by interviewing patients and by accessing other appropriate sources
  6. Ensure a flow of communication including telephone conferences between patient, study staff, referral sources, Sponsor and/or CRO, Monitor(s), Auditors and any marketing groups hired by the Sponsor
  7. Must be personal and clinically professional, able to utilize various patient interview skills to gather information and aid subjects through the clinical trial process.
  8. Perform clinical tasks including, but not limited to, vital signs, height and weight, ECG, phlebotomy, specimen packaging, etc.
  9. Maintain timely source documentation as well as sponsor required information.
  10. Dispense and maintain accurate records of study medication
  11. Educate patients and family regarding their particular study and clinical drug trials in general.
  12. Complete all monitor and sponsor queries in a timely manner (EDC/ECRF experience and knowledge required)
  13. Recruit research participants through chart reviews, advertising, and other methods as directed by central team Coordinate all aspects of the assigned clinical research trials
  14. Triage potential subjects and align them with the best study to meet the needs of the subject, organization, and sponsor
  15. Perform ad-hoc projects/tasks as needed

 

Required Skills

  1. Ability to communicate clearly/effectively (written and oral).
  2. Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills.
  3. Able to multi-task in a very fast-paced work environment.
  4. Bilingual preferred (Spanish and English)

 

Required Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree required.
  2. At least 2 years experience coordinating clinical trials for adult indications, preferred.
  3. LPN, RN, LMHC, LCSW or other clinical/medical licensure or certification preferred but not required.
