The Organizational Development Manager is responsible for leading the design and implementation of organization development programs and activities throughout the business. The role works closely with business and HR leadership to assess needs and implement solutions in the areas of leadership development, professional development, talent management, performance management, and change management. This position is both strategic and action-oriented, influencing the direction of the organization while personally driving programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Leadership and Professional Development Programs:
    • Leads the development, implementation, and execution of formal leadership and professional development activities across the operating divisions and support functions:
      o Conduct needs assessment loops with business and functional leaders
      o Designs program frameworks to meet leadership development needs with alignment to Clearwater Paper competencies and core values
      o Selects and/or designs materials for seminars and development activities
      o Executes development activities through personal facilitation of events and close partnership with field and corporate HR teams on train-the-trainer sessions
      o Identify tools and assessments to measure participant progress
  • Performance Management:
    • Lead the performance management process and optimizes processes and systems for annual performance management cycle:
      o Leads the start-to-finish execution including planning, communication, and reporting for process
      o Continually works to optimize the process. Partners closely across HR team to plan and execute improvement projects
  • Change Management:
    • Acts as subject matter expert in change management tools and approaches
      o Develop a suite of change management tools, concepts, and approaches to support change initiatives at the individual, team, and organizational level
      o Partner closely with business and project leaders to design and implement change approaches to ensure effectiveness and desired impact of change
      o Teach and consult to proactively build change management skills across the organization
  • Organizational Development Platforms and Vendors:
    • Coordinate vendor management and expenditures for companywide non-technical training platforms (DDI, CEB, etc.)
    • Provide LMS (DES) reporting support for companywide training, Coach assigned client groups on execution of company annual compliance requirements
    • Support the execution of national training initiatives (i.e. Competency, Interview)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the organizational impact in decision making; see the big picture and distil it into action plans
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Able to think strategically and act tactically; hands on
Qualifications

Required education and related experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Labor Relations, Business Administration or related field required. 
Advanced degree preferred. 
3-5 years of training and development experience required
2-4 years of progressively increasing experience in performing wide range of HR generalist duties preferred
Experience in training vendor management experience desired but not required
Experience in a manufacturing organization, including both union and non-union environments, is preferred.
CPLP, SHRM- CP/SCP or PHR preferred but not required
