JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Production Cell Leader - Paint STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Operations REVISED: 12/17/2019
REPORT TO: Production Manager PHY/ENVIR: Medium work/Shop
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Production Cell Leaders (Build, Test, Paint, Nipple-Bend) will operate manufacturing equipment and package quality parts using visual aids and work instructions. Provide leadership for the production cells.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position assists with supervisory responsibilities but has no direct reports.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
ENVIRONMENT: The employee primarily works in a shop environment. The noise is sufficient to cause the employee to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level. Laughter and low volume music encouraged Hazards includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electric current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.
SCHEDULE: 40 hours Monday-Friday; May occasionally be requested to work overtime and weekends.
TRAVEL: Rarely required to attend trainings.
CONTACT: Daily contact with department staff and management.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED. Equivalent previous work experience directly related to this position is not a requirement but is highly desirable.

EQUIPMENT: Shop equipment such as hand trucks, wrapper, automatic loading systems, pipe winders, spray painting, jigs, and related equipment; General Office equipment;
SAFETY, PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND GEAR REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to adhere to all safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) while utilizing tools, computers, and safety devices to efficiently complete assigned work and as posted in specific shop areas. Respiratory protection is required while performing paint tasks.
COMPUTER: Demonstrated proficiency in using a computer is highly desirable.
COMMUNICATION: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate clear and concise direction (training).
MENTAL: Light mental attention required for performing work where there is some variety, but actions taken, and decisions made are limited to few possibilities. Work requires some coordination with others.
MATH: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
VISUAL: Close visual acuity of color distinction, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Must possess sight and hearing senses or by the use of prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately.
PHYSICAL: Medium Work involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of these for Light Work.

- Quality Audits/Parts Inspection
- Material Preparation
- Record Production Data
- Packaging Integrity
- LMA
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Operate shop equipment, inspect parts including, but not limited to:
- Monitor production machines, equipment, and tools and alert maintenance if machines malfunction;
- Visually inspect parts for accuracy utilizing approved drawings;
- Operate equipment for each area (Ex. Ridged and hydraulic winders in Build, Test Tanks, Winders and benders for Nipple-Bend, Paint sprayers, pumps, mixers, elevators, etc.)
- Set-up all jigs
- Train Production Associates on all production procedures and work instructions, including safety and packaging requirements
- Package parts including, but not limited to:
- Make boxes for all orders as needed
- Label prefabs for shipment
- Label boxes for shipment
- Record any production data and/or complete final production paperwork.
- Perform first piece sample inspections and sign off on work order
- Perform quality audits and notify Production Manager of findings
- Communicate problems and concerns related to off shift operator, Production Foreman or Production Manager as needed
- Communicate any personnel issues to the production manager
NONESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform other duties to ensure effective and efficient operations including, but not limited to:
- Relieve and assist other operators
- Clean work area / housekeeping
