HR Generalist Job Description

Reports to: HR Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

The HR Generalist the first point of contact for employees for all Human Resources inquiries. The HRG is responsible for the successful coordination and delivery of most of the people systems, including but not limited to HR policies and procedures, leave of absence administration, and employee relations.

HR (Questions) Point of Contact

  • Manage HR Questions inbox and provide responses to inquiries from employees
  • Assist in minor/ non-complex employee relation situations
  • Support leaders with non-complex performance management/disciplinary action processes
  • Assist employees with troubleshooting issues within ADP

Payroll Liaison / Tax Filings

  • Act as payroll liaison and point of contact through ADP Workforce Now
  • Support Concur expense reimbursement reconciliation and reporting to finance and accounting
  • Complete payroll related reporting for various states and municipalities for employees on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Perform state level tax filing audits including wage and hour
  • Perform annual 401k audits and reporting through ADP

Benefits Administration -

  • Support annual open enrollment processes including hosting open enrollment information sessions for employees, completing new carrier data requests, and perform other duties as needed related to open enrollment
  • Distribute annual benefits documentation to employees and monitor attestation process.
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment and troubleshoot benefits inquiries with our benefits carriers
  • Complete annual benefits compliancy reporting
  • Complete quarterly benefits audits to ensure accuracy of enrollments and billing

Recruitment Coordination

  • Oversee and maintain ADP ATS including opening requisitions, scheduling job interviews, screening candidates, updating job descriptions, and drafting offer letters
  • Connect with leaders to collect data from interviews and support next steps

Training Coordination

  • Oversee compliance training system and support compliancy training such as harassment and unconscious bias for leaders
  • Oversee LMS system once implemented
  • Assist with overseeing leadership development program

Record Management

  • Oversee electronic HR filing systems for HR, Recruiting and Payroll
  • Generate process documents for various processes and systems as needed

Onboarding

  • Assist managers in onboarding process including:
    • ADP onboarding
    • Coordinating onboarding steps with employees
    • Background checks
    • Green Pages computer hardware order and setup
    • New Hire Orientation

Leave Administration

  • Oversee leave related record management processes including FMLA, Paid Parental Leave, and bereavement
  • Complete documents for employee leave requests
  • Liaise between CV, the employee, and leave carriers to maintain leave status of employees

HRIS

  • Provide routine reports and analytics to leaders as needed
  • Maintain regular metrics on turnover, retention, hiring, terminations, years of service, etc.

HR Projects

  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures for CV HR
  • Oversee People Connection site and make edits as needed
  • Assist with the Wellness Program Administration
  • Assist with other projects as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent experience
  • Proven HR work experience; looking for candidates with 3+ years of experience in an HR assistant or coordinator type role
  • Leadership skills, able to perform responsibilities with autonomy
  • Computer skills (Microsoft office) with advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Analytical and critical thinking ability and problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude and professional approach with ability to work well with others
  • Experience with CA labor law is a plus
  • Must be comfortable working in a remote setting across time zones
