Job Description

 

Classic Home is looking for reliable Logistics Manager who will work to improve current processes, improve material flow for inbound/outbound domestic and international shipments, productivity, and safety. The Logistics Manager will work cross functionally to ensure that transportation network supports product flow from the point of overseas manufacture through the delivery at our customer warehouses, 3PL and Company warehouses.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, and maintain the global transportation network to support the accelerated growth of the business while creating visibility, reliability, and competitiveness from a cost to serve perspective.
  • Develops effective working relationships with our international freight forwarder to secure the most cost-efficient ocean and ground transportation rates and ensures execution of all required business outcomes
  • Select and negotiate contracts with international ocean carriers, 3PL’s, drayage carriers, air freight forwarders, ocean freight forwarders, and small parcel providers.
  • Organizes regular collaboration with Company's Customs and Compliance Manager, to ensure all documentation for international shipments including packing slips, commercial invoices, ISF, BOL's and/or Airway Bill,  Certificate of Orgin, ASN's, Delivery Orders, Cargo Clearance Documentation are accurate and complete.
  • Works well within set budgets and target frameworks and implements controls necessary to keep expenditures within budgetary limitations.
  • Responsible for the timely and efficient flow of inbound global transportation to achieve defined business performance goals.
  • Ensures all internal business partners receive and understand reporting and business intelligence provided to them within regular reporting cadence Develops standardized business rules including routing guide procedures, PO & Container priorities and ensures compliance for Customs entries.
  • Manage multiple external logistics partners, e.g. freight forwarders, ocean carriers, consolidators, transload operator and dray carriers.
  • Expedite priority orders and escalates issues as needed
  • Drive Logistics/Operational Excellence initiatives to meet business objectives on time and within budget
  • Responsible for the hiring, training, and development of employees
  • Develop and implement transportation KPIs and tracking analyses that will allow Classic Home North America to predict spend, cost development, and highlight areas of opportunities

Required skills:

·         Solid knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics

·         Proven working experience as a logistics manager for domestic and international operations.

·         Record of successful distribution and logistics management including E-commerce

·         Minimum of 5 years of experience in global logistics (heavy emphasis on Asia-sourced freight movement).

·         Demonstrable ability to lead, manage and train staff

·         Proficient in standard logistics software

·         Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

·         Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects

·         BS in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
