Job Description

The State Manager shall be responsible for overseeing the planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating multi-base level operations concerning including clinical services and customer service for their assigned bases and states. The Clinical State Manager acts as a professional manager for Classic Air Medical and is accountable for the completion of all work assignments directed to his/her specific bases and activities at those bases.

The State Manager shall work closely with the local base managers, Regional Clinical Manager, Base level PR ambassadors, and Regional Clinical Education Manager, concerning oversight of the clinical care provided by Classic Air Medical. The State Clinical Manager will ensure that service delivery consistently meets or exceeds standards of care.
The State Clinical Manager will oversee the daily activities of the clinical case managers, and flight crew members of the base, establish base level goals and direct all assigned base managers. This position is a management position. A Classic Air Medical State Manager is entrusted with a division or department of the company and is responsible for that section of the company’s performance. The State Manager is also responsible for the employees of the department that fall under their supervision and management. In addition to the specific tasks listed below, the State Manager will take ownership of the performance not only of their direct department but of the company.

The State Manager reports directly to the Regional Clinical Manager and shall assume the duties and responsibilities as follows:

  • Serves as the direct supervisor for Classic Air Medical Base Managers' clinical staff assigned to them and advocates for their success in the delivery of the Classic Air Medical mission.
  • Works collaboratively with other State Managers, Regional Clinical Managers, and Base managers at Classic Air Medical in their region and other regions.
  • Coordinate and oversee all direct and indirect patient services provided by the assigned bases.
  • Provides guidance and counseling to base managers to assist them in continually improving all aspects of air medical care services provided through Classic Air Medical.
  • Actively participates with the education department to assist in all areas of clinical and outreach education needs of their assigned state.
  • Responsible for the carrying out of Classic Air Medical policies and compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations governing clinical services actions.
  • Responsible for base managers’ adherence to policies, procedures, and workplace practices. This is to be carried out in a positive collegial attitude and environment.
  • Assures state-level compliance and is accountable for and with new and ongoing compliance with all standards associated with the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) for his/her assigned bases.
  • Oversees staffing of the clinical personnel of their assigned states to ensure 24/7 coverage.
  • Assists in yearly evaluations and performance reviews of base managers with the Regional Clinical Manager.
  • Assures proper storage and completion of clinical records and patient electronic charts in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and Classic Air Medical policy.
  • Oversee the base managers' maintenance of adequate and appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment for the provision of patient services in collaboration
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and welcoming work

environment and JUST culture

  • Serves as a clinical management point of contact for the aviation

field operation officer(s) and aviation staff

  • Ensures monthly required base leadership meetings with clinical and aviation personnel are held and proper meeting minutes are taken.
  • Works with Base Managers to monitor their base performance metrics and their achievement by base staff in collaboration with other departments and Classic Air Medical administration.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all public safety agencies and medical facilities in their assigned state(s).
  • Administrative On-Call as directed by the region's needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44,518.00 - $134,588.00 per year
