HVAC Service Manager

One of Sacramento's Preferred Home Performance Contractors is looking for a personable, detail-oriented service manager to join our organization. In this position, you will provide excellent customer service experiences and maintain strong relations with current and new customers. As such, you must be a positive, energetic leader who excels in working in a collaborative environment.

Service Manager Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Oversee all services and service workspaces

· Delegate and direct service tasks; monitor progress of all current and pending jobs. Review service work orders to ensure policies and procedures are followed, timecard accuracy and company standards for profitability are being met

· Consistently deliver incredible customer service experiences by offering knowledge, advice, and answering questions and concerns

· Act as the highest source of information for all service, inventory, and product-knowledge concerns and work process matters (for both employees and customers)

· Communicate and maintain good relations with manufacturing reps and dealers

· Always keep a safe and clean workspace

· Monitor employee work and provide frequent progress reports in order to improve employee satisfaction and efficiency

· Follow and abide by all industry standards, regulations, and laws

· Stay up to date on industry standards and any new innovations, materials, tools and/or processes that can benefit the company

· Recruiting, interviewing and hiring of service team members. Help train new employees in company procedures, including safety and work processes

· Developing, implementing and training of; Service policies and procedures, Training of personnel to maintain proficiency in maintenance, start-ups and troubleshooting

· Meet with service field staff in group and one-on-one to ensure, understanding and commitment of team members with company goals

· Perform annual reviews on Service Department team members, make recommendations on improvements.

· Develop and manage budgets and goals to ensure department profitability

· Accounts receivable, aging and collections

· Meet weekly with department supervisors to review status reports from previous week and set goals for upcoming week

· Communicate regularly with dispatch to ensure maximum profits are achieved, technicians are being scheduled by skill level and drive time is minimized

· Work with other department managers to ensure availability of service personnel regarding start-ups and troubleshooting

· Work with Parts Manager regarding issues with vendors, tools and equipment. Oversee ordering all job related and truck stock materials, to ensure adequate levels are maintained and all return visits are performed in a timely manner

· Oversee scheduling of all service team members

· Managing of capacity scheduling to ensure call center is aware of maximum non-emergency calls allowed per time frame, based on current staffing and weather

· Oversee all assigned equipment, monitoring to ensure it is being maintained

· Managing and tracking of technician referred leads

· Managing of after-hours services, personnel and answering service

· Managing of payroll for service employees; timecards, commissions, piece rates and provide tracking

· Developing, implementing and training of company software

· Developing, implementing and training of company phone system

· Other tasks and responsibilities as required to maintain efficient department operations

The HVAC Service Manager should possess the following skills, characteristics and abilities:

· Ten years HVAC Management related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

· Dynamic leader with a proven track record in customer service

· Works well under pressure

· Excellent customer service and sales skills

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Organized, efficient, and results-driven

· Computer literate and proficient in several software applications
