Director - Medical/Surgical

Clark Memorial is seeking a Director of Med/Surg.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct and indirect patient care in the Med/Surg department in a cost efficient manner.  Will be responsible for the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures that guide the nursing staff.  Maintains budgetary control for assigned units.  Will coordinate with physicians, nursing personnel and other departments to ensure quality patient care. Maintains excellence in guest relations.  Supports quality healthcare through the use of quality/process improvements.

The Director must possess a combination of leadership and motivational skills that make others want to follow his or her direction. This will be accomplished by influencing others through mentoring, delegating to and coaching others.  The successful candidate will demonstrate skills that build trust, communicate effectively (both written and verbal), manage interpersonal conflict, motivate others to reach their potential and value diversity.  On a daily basis, this role will help team members understand the hospitals overall strategy, and how each team member contributes to achieving strategic objectives.

The Director will be responsible for the operations (clinical outcomes and resource utilization) of the medical surgical department.

The Director must be able to demonstrate the ability to develop solutions, effectively plan for its implementation, execute the plan and achieve superior results.

The Director must be able to develop and maintain physician relationships by building trust and managing influence.

RN, Licensed to practice in Indiana

BSN Required, Master's preferred

Leadership experience required

BLS and ACLS required
