Financial Project Accountant

At Citynet, we are looking for a Financial Project Accountant who will be responsible for the coordination, reporting, and compliance of projects on time, within budget, and within scope. The Financial Project Accountant will work within set deadlines, and monitor and summarize the progress of the project on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly basis for upper management. The Financial Project Manager will also work with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related financial matters
• Oversee and manage project budgets from inception to completion, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and regulatory policies
• Prepare periodic reports for review by upper management, highlighting any areas of concern
• Work closely with accounting staff to ensure timely and accurate submission of grant program reimbursement requests, customer/partner invoicing, and payments
• Monitor project expenditures and track them against the approved budget
• Assist in the development of long-term financial plans and forecasts for the project
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
• Serve as a liaison between the project team and the finance department
• Keep abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations that could impact the project

• Bachelor's degree is helpful but not required
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Familiarity with government grant programs helpful
