Senior Planner

City of The Dalles

DEFINITION: Performs advanced level professional planning work. This classification is distinguished from the Associate Planner in the level of responsibility assigned and coordination functions for the department. Work may involve coordinating the planning efforts of subordinate staff.

QUALIFICATIONS: Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

Education: Bachelor's degree in planning, geography, architecture, landscape architecture, environmental design, law, public administration, or related field.

and

Experience: At least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional planning experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver's license. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) designation is preferred.

PAY: $68,699.15 to $84,491.30 annually, plus generous benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision and retirement contributions of 13.5% of base wage after one year of employment.
