This is an opportunity for an individual with skills in organizational development, process improvement, and change management. The Continuous Improvement Business Analyst will work as part of a team whose purpose is to promote Continuous Improvement throughout the Utility. The group's work includes facilitation of process design workshops and working with groups to develop standard work, training, and communication practices. The vision of the group is to promote a culture of respect and continuous improvement in the Utility through Lean methodologies.
The position will require skills in written and oral communication and facilitation skills as well. The individual must like to constantly learn and enjoy playing a variety of roles to meet the needs of a small team.
The position will report to the manager of the Business Process Improvement team.The Business Process Improvement team has historically supported a number different business groups to improve their processes. Currently the group is promoting continuous improvement throughout the Utility to improve work performance and customer experience.
Example of duties that this analyst would do:
Facilitate workgroup improvement efforts to promote continuous improvement practices.
Create charters and project plans for mini-projects
Create and coordinate change management plans to integrate process changes and/or new technologies.
Support training efforts for both Lean and for operational procedures
Learn and teach problem solving methodology (plan do check act)
Create management reports including outcome measures and dashboards
Create status reports for current work projects and for the team
Analyze the current state and the benefits of changes made in process improvements
Create power point presentations to deliver for training, and reporting on the progress of team efforts.Education: Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, computer science or a related field, or a combination of education, training, or experience that provides and equivalent background to perform the work of the class.
Experience: 3 years of experience in systems, operations, procedure, research or analysis
- Experience in performing business analysis in support of business process changes
- Experience in Lean/Continuous Improvement
- High skill level in both written and spoken communication
- Extensive experience in facilitating meetings and workshops
- Expertise in Excel and MS Office suite.
- Project management skills
- Abilities to work well both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Skills in conflict management
- A natural learner and experimenter with a passion for working with people.
