The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Senior Accountant for our Finance Department.
The Senior Accountant earns a competitive annual salary of $56,132.88 - 71,569.43/based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. We also offer a retirement plan through the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with a 2:1 employer match, life insurance, disability, access to the city's recreation fitness center, employee assistance program, educational assistance, 9 paid holidays and 2 designated paid holidays, paid vacation, sick leave, and an active wellness program focusing on physical, mental, and financial health.

The successful candidate will be a positive individual with an intuitive personality that is adept to working in a fast-paced environment. You possess strong oral and written communication skills, well organized, flexible and acts with independence.
The ideal Senior Accountant is mature, detailed oriented, understands big-picture impacts of their decisions and is confident in their abilities to handle competing priorities and deadlines.
Under the general supervision of the Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for reconciling investments, property taxes, fixed assets and all bank accounts. Coordinates and assists with weekly cashier's cash audit, processes, approves or denies travel related requests. Works in a professional manner at all levels of the organization. Intermediate -to advanced computer skills in Word and Excel is a plus!
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field.
Requires four years accounting or closely related experience.
Candidates who currently possess their CPA or CGFO designation is preferred.
