Commercial Account Representative/Marketing

Under the direction of the Superintendent of Broadband Operations, this position will develop local relationships with commercial building owners. Additionally, they will facilitate in the design, production, and delivery of targeted and mass marketing materials. This position will handle any and all Commercial and MDU accounts and be a customer advocate as it relates to install, sales, technical, and any other issue that arises. This position will coordinate premise access agreements, facilitate design and installation of all required infrastructure, deliver relevant marketing materials, and identify, track and prioritize MDU and Commercial work orders. These activities will be coordinated with our OSP build out schedule and all relevant members of the department to ensure that every customer has a great experience. Other duties, responsibilities and qualifications may be required and/or assigned. This position requires field work which may include overtime, weekends, holidays, and off hours.


  1. Responsible for selling into the commercial market segments
  2. Act as a customer concierge and inter-department liaison for all commercial accounts.
  3. Answer all emails, voice mails, phone calls, inquires in a timely fashion while delivering outstanding customer service
  4. Build and maintain relationships with all local commercial and MDU customers to ensure that needs are being met
  5. Provide targeted marketing material design input and facilitate production and delivery of materials
  6. Coordinate marketing activities within the department, the City’s PIO, and outside agencies
  7. Document premise infrastructure and maintain records for accounts within OSS/BSS
  8. Coordinate with vendors to preform premise infrastructure work and maintenance
  9. Make public presentations to potential customers, City staff, City Council, community groups and other interested parties in-alignment with our organization’s mission
  10. Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in person
  11. Update mass communication media as required for network maintenance and operational functions. This includes updating our website, coordinating with our Marketing team to update marketing materials, and to ensure materials are available when needed
  12. Ability to work as part of a team
  13. Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of commercial accounts

STANDBY: Provide standby coverage for a minimum of 1 days per year and a maximum of 365 days per year. Standby duty requires knowledge of core Broadband systems and fiber optic infrastructure. Standby coverage requires immediate response to customer inquiries and automated monitoring messages. Provide call out assistance to the Broadband and Information Systems departments for after-hours and weekend high-priority issues. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Possess a fundamental understanding of technology that allows for the ability to learn new systems quickly and thoroughly
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with community partners
  • Ability to work within an OSS/BSS and update, enter, and maintain tickets
  • Working knowledge and experience of current computerized operations and GIS based documentation systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to work with customers on various projects and confer with the team to deliver the best solution and service to the customer
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and make good sound decisions based on information given.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and verbally
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and preform effective resource management



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent work and education experience.
  • Direct Sales, technical support, or account management experience preferable in telecom.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • 5-7 years’ progressive experience in a customer facing role.
  • Business Acumen.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Training to be completed upon hire.


  • 2-4 years’ experience in a Direct Sales or Account Management role in telecom industry.
  • Knowledge of low-volt wiring design, fiber optic premise wiring design, GPON, AE, G.Fast, WiFi.
  • Working knowledge of technological capabilities of low-volt and fiber optic wiring.
  • Project management experience.
  • Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent skills.
  • Brand development strategy experience.
