Job Description

Responsible for assisting the Water Plant Superintendent in the management of the City's Water Plant. The successful candidate will resolve operational problems, inventory chemicals and supplies, keep necessary records, and help prepare reports to necessary governmental agencies. Duties will also include ordering supplies and purchasing equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•    High School diploma or equivalent.
•    Two years with a trade such as heating/air conditioning, Electrical Controls, Boiler Engineer, etc. with associated trade training
•    Two years of electrical, mechanical, or chemical experience in a trade with a strong science background.
•    Must have and maintain a Class 4 Water Treatment Certification
•    Must be certified through the EPA and State of Maryland to do Microbiological testing of Distribution Water Samples.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS :
•    Maryland CDL Class B Driver’s License with Tanker and Airbrake endorsement.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
•    Skills required in plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
•    Skill in business writing.
•    Use of self-contained breathing apparatus and work with hazardous chemicals required.
•    Ability to keep records and prepare reports.
•    Ability to read and interpret graphs, charts, and blueprints.
•    Knowledge of testing and routine maintenance of power generation equipment (250 kw to 400 kw).

SALARY: $74,589 Annually
