City Winery is a 13-unit operation growing to 18-units by the end of 2023. Growing from $85m in sales to $140m in the next 12 months, as well as, from EBITDA negative to positive. We are looking for a dynamic CFO with experience in the hospitality industry with F&B and multi-unit experience.

We have a strong accounting team, but now seeking leadership to not just oversee the department, but a charismatic leader who can work directly with the CEO and CGO on fundraising and interface with the investment community. City Winery is currently engaged in conversations with Investment Bankers, Private Equity, Commercial lenders; as well as, in various M&A conversations that needs an articulate financial officer who can help in our fundraising and on-going communication with the investment community. Position Summary This position will be involved in all areas of accounting, finance, and financial reporting for the organization. This position also requires taking the lead role as the liaison with the outside audit firm for the preparation of the audited financials and tax returns. The CFO will be responsible for cash management, creating forecasts for future growth and the analysis of key performance indicators for the company to assist in strategic decision making.

Overall the CFO must possess strong leadership skills to lead the accounting and payroll teams and participate as a member of the company’s executive leadership team. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in a professional senior level accounting role. Experience leading and mentoring departments for optimal performance Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required CPA and experience in tax related field is preferred but not required Professional and effective interpersonal, communication, and listening skills across all levels of workforce Proficient computer skills and competency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and Outlook. Must be detail oriented with particular strength in time management and organization Up to date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications. Ability to manage multiple priorities and produce deliverables within strict deadlines Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; stand and walk regularly Strong data entry and word processing skills Experience in restaurant and\or hospitality a plus Experience with private equity raise and corporate restructuring a plus. Prior experience with Restaurant365 a plus Overview of Responsibilities Own all aspects of the financial forecasting, accounting, strategic finance, and reporting with a focus on strategic decision-making as well as tactical day-to-day delivery Be a key member of the company’s executive leadership team and provide analysis to support strategic decision making and recommendations to company leadership Responsible for all aspects of cash management, including the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual cash flow projections. Monitor key performance indicators on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, and communicate the operations teams Collaborate with team leaders to strategize and define team budgets, hiring plans, and other key performance indicators Develop and leverage a deep understanding of the key drivers of the various business levers; help drive strategic and operational initiatives as the business grows and scales Lead the monthly accounting close and reporting process Serve as the main point of contact for the outside audit firm to complete year end audit and annual tax return preparation Support the CEO in the development and execution of the business strategy Oversee all financial planning and analysis to provide decision support and recommendations to business leadership and venue teams Lead automation of financial and data systems and processes. Guide ROI-based business decisions including content and marketing investments, distribution partnerships, technology investments and other business imperatives. Provide strategic management and oversight of the payroll and employee benefits functions Ensure that the financial control environment is strong and sustainable, and supportive of the business’s growth. Liaise with different departments to ensure the accounting department is properly supporting the needs of the operating businesses. Ensure returns for all corporate related taxation and applicable licenses and permits are submitted, payments made accurately, on time and all relevant regulations are complied. Develop diverse talent to promote team retention to meet current and future business needs, and career development opportunities for finance team.
