Job Description

This full-time, salaried, remote position reports to the IT Director based in Dallas, TX, and works closely with the IT staff, and indirectly with CCL staffers around the country. The person hired will use their own computer, internet access and mobile phone service.


Basic Functions

This position will be responsible for front-end web development and general IT systems administration and development.


Tasks and Responsibilities

Working collaboratively with CCL’s UX Designer and Marketing, as a front-end developer you will:

  • Develop the overall look and design of websites.

  • Produce, maintain, and modify websites with an emphasis on WordPress.

  • Ensure websites are responsive and tested for usability, speed, and accessibility.

  • Identify and resolve bugs as they arise.

Working collaboratively with the Director of IT you will:

  • Provide IT support to staff and supporters for custom and packaged applications like WordPress, form software, email marketing programs, community intranet, G-Suite, and other critical software applications.

  • Triage problems and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Monitor software.

  • Help define new business processes and change requests.

  • Consult with IT staff and other departments as needed.

Working collaboratively with the IT Administrator you will share responsibility for the following tasks:

  • Help manage database security and access for a diverse set of users, profiles, and roles.

  • Help create and manage database reports and dashboards.

  • Help maintain database backups and integrations.

  • Help maintain database integrity.


Required Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of web development and design.

  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, and familiarity with at least one front-end Javascript framework (React, Angular, JQuery).

  • Understanding of database structures, models, best practices, and functionality.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with remote staff.

  • Creative and analytical thinking with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with common developer tooling and workflows (source control, deployment techniques).

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Apex, MySQL, and/or Postgres is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Python is a plus.

  • Command-line usage and common command-line utilities.
