Job Description

Cimarron is seeking Embedded Software Test Engineers to be responsible for the design, development, and execution of requirements-based test plans/procedures.  The platform under test is the Axiom Space Commercial Space Station being developed in Houston, TX.  The selected candidates for this position will play a key role in testing embedded and user interface software that controls electrical or mechanical components, along with the interfaces between those components, for a spaceflight environment. 

Key Duties:

  • Develop avionics and flight software test plans and procedures to be executed in a virtual environment and/or a Hardware-In-the-Loop environment. 

  • Fully execute test plans to verify flight software for data handling, telemetry, ECLSS, propulsion, telemetry, communications, and power management systems.

  • Communicate with subject matter experts across disciplines, users, and management throughout the test and development lifecycle.

  • Support NASA milestone reviews, including PDR, CDR, SDR, FRR, etc.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
  • 5 or more years of related experience.
  • Familiar with containerization and container orchestration supporting Continuous Deployment pipelines on Linux Systems. 
  • Ability to identify test failures and effectively communicate failure scenarios to developers and management.
  • Experience with Test Automation.
  • Experience with GitLab and Jenkins software tools.
  • Preference for and ability to thrive as a member of a small, tightly integrated team.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or another related technical discipline.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Experience GNC, Command & Data Handling, Ground/Mission Control Software, and/or Satellite Communications (C2V2, TDRS). 
  • Proficient in the use of standard electronic lab testing and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Experience with JIRA, Bit Bucket, Enterprise Architect, JAMA, and Confluence.
