Job Description First Baptist Church in Kaufman is seeking an energetic and passionate young woman who has a long term calling toward pastoring children and young families to fill a ministry position as our Associate Children’s Pastor. Associate Children’s Pastor – Job Description Goals: Kaufman County is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States and we face an unprecedented opportunity to influence the next generation. Over the next decade, we intend to give the best of our energy and effort to the vital work of leading the young families who are moving to our area to know Christ, commit to His Church, and help their children to establish a broad and powerful spiritual foundation for life. Primary Responsibilities: • Love kids toward Jesus • Build deep and transformational relationships with young families and children who are outside the church family and far from God • Partner with families and children inside the church to reach, teach, and connect new families to God and guide them toward new life-giving connections with the church family • Under the direction of the Children’s Pastor, the ACP will build community among children’s volunteers and help provide oversight and organization of volunteers in Children’s ministry (birth – 5th grade) • Assist in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for children and families • Assist in recruiting, growing and sustaining a volunteer base for weekend/special programming and events • Assist in recruiting, organizing and leading a creative team of volunteers for large group programming and special events; VBS, camps, summer events, holiday events and community outreach • Assist with curriculum development and training for leaders • Assist with providing scheduling and oversight for paid nursery workers • Other duties as assigned Ideal Candidate will possess a: • Personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with FBC Kaufman’s Statement of Faith • Growing walk with God with a strong understanding of His word. • Degree in children’s ministry or be pursing one • Willingness to become a member of FBC Kaufman, live among our people and seek the prosperity of the church family • Passion for reaching, growing and discipling children in Christ and equipping/encouraging parents and caregivers to do the same • Fun and engaging personality with lots of energy • Desire and capacity to communicating with parents and children • Capacity for strong personal leadership, time management and organizational skills • High level of initiative with ability to work both independently and with a team • Love for teaching in large and small group settings, as needed • Commitment to attendance during weekend service, meetings, and other events determined by the Children’s Pastor and Senior Pastor • Willingness to maintain regular weekday office hours • Competence in all related church software and children’s curriculum To Apply: - Cover letter - Resume - Personal testimony (no more than 1 page) - Philosophy of Children’s Ministry (no more than 1 page)
