Job Description

Job Title: Information Technology Solution Architect 4 

Responsibilities: The solution architect is responsible for the design of one or more application, infrastructure and/or service solutions that satisfy the business requirements. The solution architect must have a balanced mix of technical and business skills that provide technical decisions and direction for the solution and effectively communicate how they impact business outcomes. Responsibilities include: o Work with both the business and technical experts, to design solution to optimize business outcomes. This includes which technology can be used to solve a business problem, how the application will work with what modules and interfaces, how will the solution meet the needs of scalability, determination of risk in solution alternatives. o Provide detailed decision analysis regarding technology and process selection. o Work closely with the Business Change Managers and the Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure solution meet the needs of the business while align to the strategic goals. o Support IT leadership to in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the enterprise. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Knowledge: Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. Problem Solving: Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Discretion / Latitude: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long- term perspective, for desired results. Impact: Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives. Liaison: Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations. The primary work site location will be outside the yard gates but PPE will be required- hard hat, safety glasses, steel toes, and ear muffs.

Requirements: REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in related field and 9 years, Master's degree and 7 years of relevant experience, or PhD and 4 years of experience. Candidates submitted must have the following experience: Proven success as a technical leader. Demonstrable a robust technical background across one or more disciplines including SAP, Siemens PLM, Cloud, Application development, Hardware / Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Engineering. Have experience working with a large scale discrete manufacturer, as well as an Aerospace and Defense environment. Strong critical thinking skills. A solid foundation in technology and software development allowing you to influence the team, suggest technical alternatives, and recognize the better answers. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to business audiences, and explain business processes, concepts, challenges, and issues to technical resources. Experience with product development and lifecycle support. HOURS: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm OR 8:00am to 5:00pm

Education: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in related field, Master's, or PhD is required. School must be accredited.
