Teachers Needed


2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, Math, English, Science, Teacher: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible men and women.

Special Education Teacher: To help children with special needs to be able to function at their maximum potential and to integrate successfully into the community.

Senior Army Instructor: This position involves duties related to the JROTC Program at Chinle High School as the program supervisor.

The Chinle Unified School District No. 24 has seven schools and three thousand three hundred students. We are the largest school district in the Navajo Nation in both student count and geographic area. Our high school is the largest primarily Native American public high school in the entire United States. Ninety-seven percent of the students are Dineh. The District encompasses the communities of Chinle, Many Farms, Tsaile, Luckachukai, Wheatfields, Nazlini, Cottonwood and Tselani.
School buses travel over 6,000 miles on routes each day, as they pick up and safely transport students to and from schools.

From 2015 to 2019, CUSD has achieved historic growth in student achievement. In ELA we have 15% more students passing the state assessment than we did in 2015 while the state average increase for Arizona is just 8% higher. In math we have 16% more students passing the state assessment than we did in 2015 while the state average increase for Arizona is just 7% higher. Many grade levels across all schools have met or even exceeded the average Arizona pass rates for the same grade level and content (both ELA & Math). Our graduation rates for the 2019 and 2020 cohorts were 77% and 79% while the state average for Arizona was 78% during this same time frame.
CUSD is on a trajectory to close the achievement gap, and we are committed to stay the course!
