Performs all repairs, including light carpentry, painting, internal office moves etc. May also be required to perform assigned landscaping as directed. Travels to all agency properties.
Performs minor repairs or maintenance of agency vehicles. May have to work alone, but with direction from the Manager of the department. Lifts or handles objects such as furniture, equipment, appliances on a routine basis.
Participates in staff meetings. Performs other related duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTSUp to and including high school. Requires enough basic education to understand and follow standard practice or oral and written instructions, able to read and write, use simple arithmetic, keep simple records, or use simple office machines like a typewriter.EXPERIENCEOver two years, up to and including four years.SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREDMid-level experience in commercial and residential facilities repairs and maintenance procedures, as well as mid-level experience in troubleshooting commercial and residential repairs.Previous experience in coordinating internal and external maintenance requests and ability to establish a priority to them.Ability to clearly communicate the desired method to accomplish assigned tasks as well as how to communicate an established level of troubleshooting in the event a change of plans occur during the assigned repairs.Experience with working with different levels customers on maintenance and repair concerns.Be able to provide basic direction and clarity on assigned tasks to others.Able to routinely lift up to 50 lbs.Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTSThis job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license and a clear driver's abstract and continued employment may be contingent on maintaining a clear driver's abstract.This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.The nature of this position requires the incumbent to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of First Aid classes.
