SUMMARY OF DUTIES

We are currently recruiting a Donor Relations and Data Specialist to join our team committed strengthening families and fostering the healthy development of children in Hawai'i.

Based out of our Ewa campus, with opportunities to work remotely or in other CFS offices, this role is part of our Office of Advancement, which manages both fundraising and communications, and reports to the Director of Advancement Operations.

You'll be responsible for managing the donor database and online giving platforms as well as data-driven reports for executive and programmatic leaders. This includes ensuring that gifts are properly recorded and managed per donor expectations, donor information is accurate, and program details are up-to-date.

As the Donor Relations and Data Specialist you will be one of the first staff member our donors interact with, the liaison between donors and programmatic teams and our unofficial "Chief of Gratitude and Appreciation"!

A qualified candidate will be well-versed in:

  • Database administration (or a willingness to be trained in it)
  • Training users on software platforms
  • Meeting deadlines
  • Quality assurance audits
  • Mass email communications utilizing proper donor language
  • Generating update reports
  • Donor and prospect research

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
  • Four-Year College Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency - general major. Requires basic knowledge or training in a specialized or technical field or trade, such as social work, professional accounting, finance, business administration, and marketing.

EXPERIENCE
  • Over two years, up to and including four years.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • At least 4 years of database management experience required.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Programs including relevant versions of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel formulas, tables, and charts for data reporting.
  • Proficiency in Windows 10.
  • Business writing skills required.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Ability to type 35+ words per minute.
  • 10 key by touch.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Must be well organized.
  • Ability to quickly switch tasks as priorities change while ensuring all assigned projects are completed accurately and on time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Comfortable working with a computer and staring at a computer screen for extended periods.
  • Ability to work and focus in an open office layout.
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Comfortable with basic arithmetic and algebra.
  • Ability to think in the abstract and use structured problem-solving techniques to identify solutions.

OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
  • This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.
