This position requires presence in one of our company's main offices on a regular basis. This position must be available to work in any of the offices as needed, with notice. Travel to other offices is necessary for meetings, workshops or trainings.
Schedule to be set based on needs of practice and may change with notice from time to time.
Includes a few evening and weekend workshops/training/events a year.
May require some Saturdays with notice.
This job is for an administrative assistant who is expected to assist the clinical staff (specifically Medical Services) and
Managers/Directors in all aspects of office operations as needed and includes but is not limited to:
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Administrative support for Medical services
Triage medical services intakes for appropriateness and track through our referral tracking system
Scheduling initial/follow-up appointments for medical services patients
Insurance verification for Medical services patients
Interfacing with doctors, nurses and patients via phone, fax, email and face-to-face contact
Relaying information to patients from prescribers regarding medications, other clinical information and directions, scheduling, etc.
Managing refill request submissions from patients/parents and pharmacies, verifying prescription information and follow- up appointments
Sending enrollment and patient forms through our EHR
Preparing prior authorization requests for prescribers
Calling in or faxing prior authorization requests to insurance companies
Calling pharmacies regarding prescription refills
Faxing clinical forms and letters on behalf of prescribers
Creating new patient charts and entering new patient demographics into AMD
Tracking/confirming PCP letters sent for new patients and documenting in our EHR
Tracking case closing lette
