Trade Marketing Manager

Location: El Segundo, CA or Pittsburgh, PA                     

Department: Sales

  

The Trade Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Sales Planning and is responsible for managing portfolio trade spend across assigned segments and retailers.  The Trade Marketing Manager will work to efficiently drive sales and profitability across the organization.  The Trade Marketing Manager will work cross functionally with Sales Planning, Brand Marketing, Supply Chain, and the Sales Team on key projects.  This role will act as the primary liaison between the Field Sales Team and Headquarter Departments.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Develop portfolio spending guidelines to maximize sales within budget

·         Evaluate retailer specific trade plans in collaboration with the Sales Team

·         Utilize price and promotion tools to develop promotional strategies

·         Leverage trade promotion software (Oracle) to optimize ROI and deliver Gross Margin targets

·         Conduct post promotional analysis and employ learnings

·         Refine tools and methods to streamline planning processes

·         Monitor and analyze market conditions to gain understanding of competitive strategies

·         Create/maintain MAPS (merchandising, assortment, pricing, shelving) guidelines for the Sales Team

·         Drive monthly forecasting process with Sales Team and Supply Chain

·         Partner with Brand Marketing to develop and execute brand strategies

·         Assist with category reviews and new item presentations 

·         Efficiently communicate key initiatives to the Sales Team

 

Requirements:

·         Five+ year’s Consumer Packaged Goods experience in trade marketing/sales/sales planning is required

·         Understanding of customer management process, trade finance, business financials, and owning a P&L

·         Knowledge of grocery customers and

·         Proficiency using Nielsen/IRI data and tools

·         Excellent verbal and written communication

·         Strong problem-solving skills

·         Ability to think strategically and be proactive

·         Personal leadership and strong attention to detail

·         Effective time management and organizational skills

·         Ability to deliver results in a team environment across several internal and external stakeholders

·         Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint Microsoft applications

·         BA/BS Required
