Location: Portsmouth, NH or El Segundo, CA

Department: Operations

 

Inventory Analyst

 

The Inventory Analyst supports the organization through active monitoring and reporting of inventory in order to maintain optimal efficiency in the supply chain. Using a variety of analysis tools and processes, the Jr. Inventory Analyst communicates results to department leaders and stakeholders across the organization.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Works extensively with data, analyzing and interpreting inventory levels at all touch points in the supply chain, providing analytical insight into events and trends that affect the supply chain.

· Proactively monitors inventory levels and identifies potential trouble areas relating to shortages, excess inventory, aged and soon-to-be-aged inventory. Works with responsible parties and stakeholders to resolve issues.

· Actively involved in demand planning process for assigned categories and customers, serving as an advocate for responsible inventory management and procurement recommendations.

· Ensures all reports and analysis are presented professionally, accurately and are crafted to elicit action.

· Maintains a roster of assigned internal and external reports, scheduling activity to ensure consistent preparation and delivery.

· Supports department leaders on projects, carrying out assigned tasks as described in a project plan.

· Supports department leaders with ad hoc requests that include; reporting, analysis, gathering input cross-departmentally and preparing presentations.

Other Duties

· Supports the collection and validation of forecasts that support inventory planning.

· May assist other departments, as needed, in completing tasks related to the maintenance and accuracy of inventory, as well as assisting in tasks that directly affect inventory.

 

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education / Experience

· High level of competence in current versions of Microsoft Excel. Previous exposure to other database, reporting, analysis and/or demand planning/supply chain management tools strongly desired.

· Analytically minded, with the ability to interpret broad sets of data and extract key points of analysis.

· Effective, professional, and articulate communicator with strong preparation skills. Will interface with others, internally and externally, at all levels. Must represent company and department values in all communications.

· Able to work quickly, sometimes under pressure of a deadline, without compromising quality of analysis.

· Seeks to identify problems proactively and is able to plan strategies to overcome and execute on plan.

· Baccalaureate (BA or BS) degree.

 

Preferred Qualifications

· Food/commodity experience. Experience in global supply chain with extended lead time a plus.

· Accustomed to working with a company ERP system and is regarded as a quick learner, comfortable with new platforms.

· SAP experience, particularly within the MRP module highly desired.

· Two years consecutive experience in high volume inventory environment, analyzing all facets of a supply chain.
