Job Description

Chick-fil-A 101 & Telephone is looking to hire an Executive General Manager (internally known as Executive Director) in preparation for our additional location opening in January 2023 in the Riverpark community in Oxnard, CA. The Executive Leadership team will have a total of four members, including the: 

  • Operations Director of the 101 & Telephone Free-Standing Restaurant
  • Operations Director of the Riverpark Drive-Thru Restaurant
  • Business Affairs Director
  • Talent and Training Director

The ideal candidate will focus on only one of the positions above; however, he/she will also be cross trained in the other positions to help support the executive team as necessary. Operations Directors are responsible for their location's performance including:

  • Leadership Development and Accountability (estimated 10-14 trainers and leaders)
  • Guest Experience, including Taste of Food, Speed of Service, Order Accuracy, Cleanliness and Attentive/Courteous Team Members
  • Expense management, including Wages, Food and other P&L expenses
  • Food safety
  • Interviews job candidates, makes hiring, termination, advancement, promotion or any other status change decisions for Team Members and leaders within the unit
  • Uses judgment and discretion to resolve customer and Team Member questions and problems, and determines when to refer more complex issues to members of the executive team or our human resource partner
  • Ensures all equipment is in good working order and works with other restaurant leaders, if necessary
  • Demonstrates a business mindset with a proven record of financial growth in profit and sales of a restaurant

The Business Affairs Director is responsible for:

  • Leading a team of Restaurant Administrative Assistants to complete a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: 
    • Scheduling of 160-200 Team Members
    • Product ordering, including Food, Paper, Cleaning Chemicals, Uniforms, Kitchen Supplies, Equipment Parts and Safe Till Change
    • Inventory Management of all items ordered above
    • Completing payroll audits, processing payroll, processing Team Member 401K and health benefits, invoices, quality audit, issuing Team Member policy warnings, corresponding through email
    • Team Member recruiting and hiring process 
    • Other miscellaneous administrative responsibilities
  • Leading the Community Outreach Team to accomplish specific goals related to sales and Brand Growth
  • Leading the Maintenance Manager to accomplish specific facilities and equipment repair and maintenance goals
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local laws

The Talent and Training Director is responsible for:

  • Creating a world-class training system where Team Members feel fully equipped to perform their job at the highest level
  • Training and developing all new trainers to execute training at a high level
  • Leading all Team Member onboarding, training and accountability
  • Leading a culture of care by influencing all levels of the organization

Responsibilities for ALL members of the Executive Director Team include:

  • Demonstrate an outstanding ability to be a team player and work well with other members of the executive team
  • Show a passion for and understanding of the Chick-fil-A brand and the desire to be an advocate for the brand
  • Ensure all employment labor laws are strictly adhered to by all restaurant leadership
  • Read and understand financial and operational data and reports to monitor progress towards unit goals and lead others to meet those objectives
  • Be a self-leader, committed to personal growth
  • Have a deep understanding of restaurant operations and management of hourly employees
  • Have excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills sufficient to speak with and write to persons of various social, cultural, economic and ethnic backgrounds to develop effective working relationships and resolve problems
  • Be a superb project and program manager, able to assess needs, set a vision, prioritize appropriately, present creative solutions, develop action plans, and execute and measure results
  • Have an ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and follow through on multiple tasks and projects with attention to detail and in a timely manner
  • Work between 40 and 50 hours per week, five days a week
  • Be available to work based on the needs of the business (although it should not be a regular need, open availability includes early mornings, late evenings and weekends if/as needed)

  • Annual compensation $53k-$88k/year
