Job Description

Primary Function:

The Operations Manager (OM) is responsible for the management of all supervisory staff in Programming support operations, including but not limited to Retail, Box office, Theatre Top-of-house, and Manufacturing and the associated daily management and purchasing needs of these departments. The OM will also supervise the daily operations of Qualla Creations and Oconaluftee Manufacturing and help CHA develop an online retail sales presence.

Job Duties:

· The Operations Manager will be responsible for working with CHA’s Program Manager and Artistic Director for planning, managing, selecting, and purchasing goods and merchandise that are sold in retail stores. They look for new and review existing goods in store to ensure store's competitiveness.

· Supervise Managers in the Operations Departments to insure labor efficiency of their duties.

· Work with employees and managers to maintain an open, collegial, and effective team environment.

· Work within department budget and other appropriate resources.

· Work in accordance with CHA policies and procedures.

· Work in tandem with the Executive Director, Program Director, Artistic Director, and Finance Processor

· Assist and coordinate CHA functions, special events, and fundraisers when needed.

Job Knowledge:

Applicant must have or be willing to learn Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians culture. Possess ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, have a “customer first attitude”, which includes but is not limited to; answering the phones with a smile on your face, and always be kind and professional. Applicant must also keep a well maintained and very organized workspace, filing system and appearance. Must be diligent, professional, and trustworthy.

Education Experience and Other Requirements:

· 2-year degree and two years of supervisor experience or similar experience required.

· Must possess a valid Driver’s License

· Must be willing to travel on request

· Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends when needed.

· Requires in depth computer skills and use of Microsoft Office proficiently.
