IT Support Technician, Level 2


Job description:
We are an IT support firm seeking an IT support technician to work full-time in Bakersfield, CA.

Responsibilities will include: 
*Administration and troubleshooting of Windows-based devices
*Administration of Microsoft 365 / Office 365:

  • Core concepts including setup and management
  • Application installation and troubleshooting
  • Device management with Intune / Endpoint Manager

*Administration of a Google-based environment including G Suite and Chromebooks:

  • Core concepts including setup and management
  • Application assistance and training

*Basic Apple MAC-based administration and troubleshooting
*Be able to provide training/assistance for level 1 technicians
*Be able to manage user accounts and policies across multiple systems (Azure AD, G-Suite, LoB-specific)
*Managing and responding to tickets via ZenDesk
*This position will have one direct report

More about the job:
This job is located onsite at our clients office in Bakersfield. The client is a distance learning public charter school serving grades K-12. You will work within in a team of IT professionals that are responsible for the clients entire Technology department. Your day will be spent at a single location but you may be required to travel between remote sites (as-needed and rarely). The general schedule is M-F ~8:00am to 5:00pm with a one-hour lunch. After-hours and weekend work rarely occurs but is sometimes necessary. This position reports to a remote manager. You will manage one remote direct-report level 1 technician.


Qualifications: 
People skills: this is the number one requirement. You must have excellent communication and inter-personal skills. You need to be able to defuse tense situation and react calmly in the face of antagonism.

Experience:
*1+ yrs of experience supporting users in a helpdesk role
*1+ yrs of experience in an IT administration / systems administration role is a plus

Polish: you must present yourself very well. You will be representing our company and on-site with our client every day. Please be able to write and speak clearly and concisely.

Initiative: you must be a self-starter that is capable of managing a task list and be able to identify new items that need to be completed.

Multitasker: you will be required to track multiple items at once (tickets, projects, etc.). Please be comfortable switching gears as necessary.

Other: This is an organization that works with children and as such you will be required to pass a background check and must have a clean record with no criminal history, no DUIs, no misdemeanors, no exceptions. Occasionally, you may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

Bonus: Experience working in an education environment; industry standard IT certifications (A+, N+, Microsoft-based, etc.)
