Process Engineer

Channellock, Inc., an award-winning and leading manufacturer in pliers, is seeking an individual to add their knowledge and skills to our Engineering Team as a Process Engineer. Join our team of over 350 associates in making pliers that are sold and used worldwide. Not only are we renowned for our product quality and blue handles but also for our work ethic and dedication.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Evaluating and developing Manufacturing Processes for efficiency and ease of product flow
- Improving process efficiency by analyzing workflow and utilizing Lean Manufacturing
- Designing testing methods which will conclude with testing the finished product, processing its capabilities, establishing standards, and confirming the process
- Providing manufacturing decisions based on calculating costs, requirements, and cycle times
- Performing time studies
- Instructing necessary associates of the proper operations of equipment within the department
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge
- Helping set and accomplish established manufacturing goals
- Providing engineering support for the implementation of C.I.P.’s as required
- Assisting with other duties as assigned
Do you have the skills?
- The ability to identify and problem solve
- Be able to present technical information and machine specifications
- The ability to navigate PLC Ladder for machine diagnostics
- Be proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Have good technical writing skills and verbal communication
- Have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervisor
Knowledge we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years hands on experience in a parts manufacturing atmosphere
- Ability to translate ideas into drawings and documents for production purposes
- CNC programming for production manufacturing and tooling fabrication
- Proficient in 3D modeling in ProE, Solidworks, etc.
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems is preferred
