Injection Molding Supervisor
1st shift (6:00AM-2:30PM) and 3rd shift (10:30PM-6:15AM)
Founded by the Channell family in 1922, Channell is a global designer and manufacturer of equipment supplied to telephone companies and cable television network operators. Major product lines include a complete line of thermoplastic and metal fabricated enclosures, advanced copper termination and connection products, fiber optic cable management systems and heat shrink products.
The Injection Molding Supervisor is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and executing daily production schedule. Setting daily work assignments, ensuring equipment is performing to standard, performing housekeeping checks, scrap reporting, inventory management, and mentoring of hourly employees. The production supervisor is also the primary point of contact for first-response team, managing safety and accidents, and reviewing material requirements and practices. They also enforce facility rules for all employees within the work-group.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Provide leadership a direction to the Injection Molding group ensuring the on-time production and/or delivery of quality products
Set daily assignments of personnel engaged in the manufacturing of parts and components in accordance with print specifications, and quality standards
Fosters professional growth and development of all personnel and promotes group unity, efficiency and effectiveness by providing technical training and support-assistance to problem-solving and continuous improvement activities
Reviews the production schedule, verifies print specifications, and requirements to determine process, materials, machines and tooling requirements, as well as operations sequencing
Verifies set-ups performed by technicians to achieve optimum quality results
Assigns tasks to operators and identifies methods for coordinating the workflow to meet the production schedule
Formulates recommendations to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, as well as for improvement of working conditions, the workforce, and overall operational efficiency and effectiveness
Conducts in-process inspections and verification of finished parts so as to ascertain continuous part and process quality conformance
Investigates malfunction of machines and equipment to determine need for repair
Performs other duties as required
5 plus years’ experience working with large accumulator head extrusion blow molding
3 plus years’ supervision experience in a manufacturing environment
Effective communication skills with the ability to remain calm and focused under stressful situations.
Fluent in English is required.
Strong math and computer skills are essential
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Authorization to work in the United States
The following qualifications are not required but helpful:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Experience with Cincinnati Macron injection molding equipment
Experience with Oracle ERP
Experience with ADP Time and Attendance
