The GIS Analyst has an important role with the RPC Team! Spatial data and mapping are critical to our planning work of the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC). We have developed an innovative, open-source platform for analyzing and publishing spatial data online. The GIS Analyst supports the work of the Planning and Community Development Division by collecting, analyzing, managing, and publishing spatial data.
- A four-year degree in GIS, geography, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Ability to work independently to solve technical problems
- Knowledge of GIS concepts, spatial data formats, and open-source GIS software
- Intermediate QGIS, database management, and SQL skills
- Beginner Python skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., M-F (Flexibility is necessary to support the goals of the RPC Team!

Status: Full-Time/37.5 hours per week
Starting Wage: $24.98 – 31.22
