Job Description

The Cesar Chavez Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves low-income families in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas through affordable housing and social service programs. Build community partnerships that bring services and notice to the property; ambassador/advocate of the property, seeking volunteering, selling the brand. When other services are not available, may deliver direct services. Actively participate with other staff working toward resident’s stability. This position is a full-time job and responsible for two senior HUD Facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Must be bilingual English and Spanish

·        Work  collaboratively  with  others  in  team  environment,  respecting  and  valuing  the  perspective  and contribution of others.

·        Function effectively in an environment with diverse cultures, multiple perspectives, and competing needs.

·        Demonstrate a high level of verbal, writing, and listening skills.

·        Proficient with MS Office (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).

·        Maintain confidentiality and to obtain appropriate release of information as necessary.

·        Able to work with people with mental health, disability, substance abuse, legal, and financial issues.

Administration

·        Serves as a liaison with community agencies, client referral-based organizations, medical provider, and federal and state entities to connect seniors according to their needs.

·        Plans, promotes, organizes and directs a wide variety of program activities, trips, and excursions for seniors according to their interests.

·        Collaborate with local community agencies to bring on-site services to senior residents.

Other

·       A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years

·       Must be First Aid/CPR/AED certified (or obtain within 30 days) and maintain those certifications

·       Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as required for transportation, set up and conducting activities

·       Ability to work flexible hours including evening and weekends as necessary

·       Other duties as assigned by Regional Program Coordinator

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORMENT

The physical demands and work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions, duties, and responsibilities. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and occasionally lift or move up to 35 pounds. Most of the employee’s time is spent in an office setting; however, the employee may be called upon to work outdoors in all types of weather.
