Position: Commercial Analyst
Location: Aliso Viejo, California
Reports to: Sr. Accountant
Status: Regular, Fulltime, Non-exempt (Hourly)
Job purpose (accountabilities):
As a Commercial Analyst you are part of the Finance department. From the new facility in Southern California, this position provides both business analysis, data analysis and financial processing in the broadest sense of the word. You will serve as a liaison and advisor for the Sales and Finance departments. You provide proactive support to the Sales team, the Finance team and the CFO in the field of data insights and business and financial control.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors level in finance, economics, business or Data/BI analysis Minimum 2 years of work experience in a financial/business role or business or data analyst role
In charge of weekly & mid-month reporting and analysis of sales, margins, orders and fulfillments.
Manage customers' credits for merchandise returns or price adjustments.
Prepare commercial management reports for internal and external purposes with regard to margins (sales and cost prices), product groups, sales channels, promotions, rep performance, order intake and order book etc.
Contribute to the budgeting and monthly close process, by analyzing forecasts and budgets and explaining any differences therein
Intensively support the Sales team by actively contributing to the monthly commercial consultation, promoting the financial role & development of the preseason program, reviewing and analyzing sales results etc.
Review and update the dealer portal information as needed.
Analyze sales data on promotions, new releases, incentives etc...
Serve as a liaison, pivotal information between Sales departments, operations, IT and the Finance department
Support inventory department with products purchasing and cost controlling works
Serve as a controller of customers sales incentives, price discounts, and payment terms
Handle weekly customer invoicing process and monthly sales rep commission
Provide additional duties and/or assist with special projects as required.
Job Specific Knowledge / Skills:
Knowledge & Skills:
Concrete experience as a finance and/or data business partner, in which you promote the financial role within a team of merchants (being able to deal with different interests)
Broad financial basic knowledge with regard to accounting rules in the field of commerce
Aptitude for financial figures and data, as well as business relationships with customers and business partners
Knowledgeable with the use of BI / IT systems and Excel for developing analysis of data, calculation models and designing business scenarios
Comfortable working with Excel VBM programming. High attention to detail and strong organization and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Independent, entrepreneurial and initiative for improvement and optimization of business processes
Experience with conflict management & working under pressure
