Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a Technical Editor exists in our Data Electronics Team for a self-starter who is inquisitive and enjoys revising, writing, editing, and proofreading a full range of technical documents. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Editing and proofreading of technical documents for quality, accuracy, grammatical correctness, spelling, composition, and conformance to the appropriate style.
    • Research, documentation, and processing of all technical data provided by a Client.
    • Incorporating digital editorial revisions and graphics to modify document/file formatting to ensure complete format style compliance as directed by the Client using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe FrameMaker, and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Create and modify business graphics using the Microsoft Office suite of products, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Microstation.
    • Creating Portable Document Format (PDF) files, using Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe Acrobat Professional X (and above), maintaining text searchability and adherence to preflight requirements.
    • Maintaining record copies in accordance with departmental guidelines, procedures, and processes.
    • Monitoring job progress and alert your supervisor when a schedule appears to be in jeopardy.
    • Update and maintain multiple online databases.


    • Associates Degree in Business Writing, Journalism or Science, and 1 year of experience or an equivalent number of years of education and experience working with technical documents. A 4-year degree is a plus.
    • Experience with online editing/proofreading and electronic document formatting and publishing.Must have a working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Adobe FrameMaker is a plus.


    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must have demonstrated proficiency utilizing the Internet using Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox.
    • Must be able to work individually, as well as within a team environment
    • Strong attention to detail. Duties require accuracy, excellent judgment, initiative, discretion, flexibility, and creative problem-solving.
    • Must be able to anticipate and react to changing priorities and perform under pressure with little supervision.
