The QC technician must be responsible for monitoring all food safety and quality of the company at all times. The Technician will collect and report measurable quality data from production throughout the shift. The technician will be a resource to Operations to ensure safe and quality are being produced that meet our customer requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The QA technician will serve as a resource for the Operation and Engineering departments to provide guidance to produce safe and quality products to our customers. She/he will always be on alert for instances that may jeopardize the integrity of our products. She/he will be asked to help resolve issue that pertain to food safety and quality. She/he will communicate ideas to leadership that will continue the production of safe and quality products.
The QA Technician may be responsible for monitoring and documenting any deficiencies in the production areas pertaining to the companies GMPs, SSOP, and Quality systems. She/ he will be instrumental in helping restore production back to sanitary and normal process when these deficiencies are observed. At times it may be necessary for the QA Technician to perform preoperational inspections to ensure conditions have been restored before Operations can resume. She/he will contact the Operations and Engineering department leadership for corrective actions and preventative measures when any of the GMPs, SSOP, or Quality systems are out of specification.
The QA Technician may be responsible for collecting pre and post operational swabs to ensure Listeria and Environmental program requirements are completed weekly. She/he may be required to collect finished product micro samples for various products. She/he will document the collection of swabs or micro samples at the time of the collection and store them in the appropriate designated locations until they can be taken to the analytical lab for verification and shipment. She/he must notify her/his supervisor when there are issues that do not allow for collection or documentation of samples.
The QA technician may be responsible for verifying Operational procedures and equipment to ensure SOP requirements are followed. She/he may be responsible for monitoring activities and documenting checks of packaging and labeling to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled and misbranded products do not enter commerce. If any deficiencies are observed it is the Technician’s responsibility to communicate the observation immediately to the department’s leadership. She/he may be responsible for verifying the accuracy of labeling for raw materials and other ingredients at the time of receipt. She /he may be responsible for monitoring and
verifying that HACCP requirements are met. She/he is responsible for notifying the company’s leadership when requirements are not met.
The QA Technician may be responsible for collecting finished product and performing tasks that ensure the customer quality and specifications are met. She/he may be trained and required to perform sensory evaluation on finished products and document the scores of the evaluation. She/he may be trained and required to gather data by physically measuring key attributes of finished products and notify leadership when product specifications are not achieved. She/he will be required to obtain corrective actions from Operation’s and Engineering’s leadership to document what was performed to bring the product back into specification.
The QA technician may be responsible for the management, preparation, and issuance of equipment used on a daily basis to ensure Safety and Quality systems are achieved. She/he will be responsible for calibrating and documenting the equipment to be checked out by the operations and engineering departments. She/ he will be responsible for verifying that the equipment that was checked out was returned and documented at the end of each shift. She/he will be responsible for calibrating the returned equipment and documenting the calibration on the appropriate paperwork. She/he will communicate it to leadership when equipment is not returned and/or calibrations are not sufficient.
