Cercano is based in Bellevue, WA, with offices in Wayzata, MN, Atlanta GA and Singapore. Cercano invests
globally for its clients, commonly operating as the family office Chief Investment Officer. The team has
extensive experience in direct investing in all stages of venture capital, private equity, private credit, and public
equities on a global basis.
POSITION MISSION
Cercano is seeking a Public Equities and Derivatives Trader to join our Investment Management team in
Seattle. In this role, the Trader will be an important member of the Investment Management team with the
primary responsibility of executing trade orders. The trader will also support the overall investment process by
originating statistical studies and analytical investment research including evaluating and recommending
investment ideas and working alongside Portfolio Managers and directly assisting Cercano’s multi-billion
dollar portfolios.
Specific responsibilities include knowledge of Domestic and International equity markets and electronic
trading capabilities. Knowledge of Derivative and F/X strategies is a plus. As an Equity Trader you must be
able to solve complex trading problems, create a best execution process, and drive overall operational
improvements to better outcomes and lower overall trading costs.
The candidate will have regular interaction with Cercano’s CIO and the Head of Public Equities and must
maintain strong relationships with Sell-side counterparties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Use Best Execution to drive outcomes when trading equities, derivatives, futures, and Foreign
Exchange
• Actively monitor the profit and loss of existing equity and derivative positions.
• Support the CIO and Head of Public Equities with a formed market view based upon trading flow and
options observations. Provide insight into trading dynamics at the individual security level.
• Build out data analytics capabilities to integrate factor and quantitative analyses into investment
team’s fundamental work.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the Sell-side to help achieve better outcomes in trading
and additionally help the Public Equity team obtain resources for performance enhancement.
• Build out a Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) process to monitor the performance of the tools being
used on the trading desk.
• Work closely with the Equity Operational and Legal/Compliance teams to improve processes for risk
mitigation.
• Work closely with the Public Equity team to shape and monitor commission budgets for research
procurement.
• Participate in Best Execution Committee

Knowledge, experience, skill, and/or ability
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Management, or related field
• 3-5 years of asset management trading experience
• Experience with financial markets and strong knowledge of derivative products
• Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities
• Abilities to multi-task with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Highly detailed oriented
• Desired computer skills: Microsoft Office, Bloomberg and other trading software, including Eze OMS.
Preferred
• PowerBi, Python, SQL software
Education/experience/certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Management, or related field
SALARY RANGE:
$150,000 - $250,000 on an annual basis
SALARY DETAILS:
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including, and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and
skillset while balancing internal equity. Our Incentive compensation plan is in addition to the base
compensation range listed above. Cercano is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with
