Job Description Central Valley Indian Health is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Driver/Maintenance. The incumbent holds a “Safety Sensitive” position and works closely with the COVID Team to provide transportation and maintenance services. Responsible for loading/unloading, setting-up, tearing down, and transporting supplies & equipment for mobile clinic sites.
Will assist with general building maintenance and provide protective services to the staff, patients and visitors. Responsible for HIPAA Compliance. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILIES: Safely drive CVIH vehicle to mobile clinic sites.
Prepare COVID test kits and supplies, as needed. Pack, set-up, tear down, and transport supplies and equipment for mobile clinic sites. Assist with traffic control at all mobile events.
Assist with the registration process, including confirmation of signed consents, collecting packets, and checking in patients. Dispose of biohazard bags safely and properly. Perform general building maintenance, including cleaning floors, windows, and other building areas as needed.
Must be able to lift & carry supplies needed for maintenance. Perform repairs of building and fixtures, including lights/light bulbs, etc. Responsible for receiving and inventorying materials, supplies and equipment as they are delivered or picked up.
Maintain medical expendable supplies inventory to assure adequate supplies. Ensure waiting room is a safe environment; doors unlocked during business hours, clean up any water/spills, etc. Notify supervisor of any maintenance/repairs needed.
Perform protective services guarding staff, patients and visitors, property and equipment. Patrol areas to check locks, alarms, fences, gates, or other barrier in and around the clinic property. Relay messages, maintains logs, and assists in emergency situations.
Follow “Code P” procedures (Call Police) when situations warrant. Perform the essential functions of the position without risk to themselves or others. Communicate in a friendly and professional manner to others.
Provide excellent service/support to all patients, employees, and outside contacts. Any other duties assigned by his or her direct supervisor or CVIH management. JOB REQUIREMENTS: A valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record with the ability to be insured under CVIH’s automobile insurance.
High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge and skills to do building maintenance, and ability to use hand and power tools necessary for building maintenance. Must be able to lift 50 lbs; be able to perform moderate to arduous physical exertion and/or duties of a hazardous nature.
Knowledge and application of physical security procedures and policies. Must be computer literate. Valid CPR Certificate and Guard Card preferred.
Requires an awareness and keen appreciation of Indian traditions, customs and socioeconomic needs; an ability at times to meet and deal effectively with Indian Health Organizations consisting of numerous tribes with varied cultures with which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
