Job Description

Position Function:

The Cloud Systems Engineer is member of a team responsible for maintaining and supporting the bank's infrastructure and participates in various projects to continually improve its efficiency and security. Position requires a high-level of technical knowledge to perform problem identification and resolution of hardware, software, network carrier, and security issues. Oversee development and installation of new hardware and software to deliver capabilities required to achieve business goals. May assume the Project manager role for simple and complex projects and/or assume the Technical Lead role for other projects. Works under minimal supervision and operates across several computer environments and platforms. Multiple levels available based on qualifications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Engineering – design, implement, and manage cloud-based systems for businesses. Develop and implement cloud-applications, migrate existing on-premises applications to the cloud, and debug cloud stacks.
  • Project Implementation Support – provides service and support for all project implementations. This will include the setup of testing and development environments, upgrades to hardware as needed, and installation into production. Prepares tasks and assignments for project implementations and acts as Technical Support technical lead.
  • Data Communications and Networking Support – provides internal team member support in the administration and management of the bank’s data communications network.
  • Network Security and Monitoring Support – provides maintenance, installation, upgrades, and service support for all bank network security systems.
  • Network Management Support – provides network service support such as building servers and workstations, performing software testing and upgrades, install and configure all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches and wireless devices and assisting network users with network related problems.
  • Teamwork – Builds positive and effective relationships with other staff members and are able to communicate information effectively. Able to work in a team environment to accomplish tasks and goals as required. Able to work with others to arrive at solutions and willing to share information with other team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

Experience:

  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • 3+ years’ experience working with the Microsoft Operating System
  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux based environment
  • Knowledge of database systems such as Oracle, SQL preferred
  • Experience with VMware virtualization
  • Experience with CISCO network technologies
  • Azure and/or AWS certifications highly desired
  • Azure: Must have real-world, hands-on experience delivering Azure based solutions utilizing ideally within large complex environments.
  • Must be able to drive and must have a valid driver’s license
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and able to effectively interact with all levels in the Company
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
  • Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
  • Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
  • Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
