Contracts Manager

The Contracts Manger job position is fundamental to the overall strength of the business. The position will contribute to the stability and development of the Company by drafting and maintaining the Companies contracts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build, review and edit sales, vendor and other commercial agreements.

  • Assist in management and maintenance of company's standard contract templates, and management of the company's internal contract management tools and software.

  • Provide legal support in the areas of contract drafting and negotiations, legal and policy compliance review, contract administration and process management, and other legal matters that arise.

  • Manage and meet aggressive internal MBOs, and help balance priorities..

  • Experience in collaborating with multiple partners and internal teams such as legal, risk, and compliance to tackle business problems in a fast-paced environment.

  • Direct involvement with M&A planning, execution, and outcomes, implementation of product and business development, intellectual property matters in order to meet expansion expectations organically and through acquisition.

  • Perform moderately complex to complex legal, compliance and transactional research and analysis, and relative to such research and analysis, make recommendations as to the degree of risk to CCA, and communicate or escalate significant risks and issues, with recommendations for action, to Legal Senior Management.

  • Draft, formulate and implement corporate legal policy concerning a variety of issues.

  • Display credibility with business leaders, legislative bodies, supervisory authorities and government agencies on behalf of CCA and the greater industry.

  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills. Provide appropriate guidance and/or determine the outcome of situations.

  • Comprehensive and critical thinking. Ability to sufficiently assess, analyze and interpret risk, to ultimately provide strategic planning and response. Timely and effectively address challenges, with enough foresight to address anticipated impact to the business.

  • Adaptability. Flexibility to adjust an approach or response to changes within the business, while maintaining compliance with policy, procedure and applicable laws.

  • Functional business acumen. Understand the core business purpose and how each functional unit lends to the development and growth of the Company.

  • Relationship and team building. Build trust and credibility amongst all business units. Conduct business in a non-confrontational manner to create a collaborative work environment



  • 4+ years in the contracts management, or related role

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) with JD or paralegal degree preferred

  • Experience with contract and corporate management software

  • Knowledge and practical use of Microsoft Office systems (i.e., MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and other MS Tools) or Google Suite

  • Advanced math and data-analytic skills

  • Proficiency of the English language, verbal and written format

  • Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver License, and meet requirements for insurability under the Company’s policy


  • Functional knowledge of California cannabis regulations

  • Knowledge of CARTA

  • Public Market Reporting Experience
