Job Description

Position Title: AssociatePastor of Groups and Care Campus: ALL
Reports To: Lead Groups Pastor Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary: The Associate Director of Groups and Care is the point leader for Care Ministry at Central and in coordination with the Lead Groups Pastor supports each campuss efforts to engage adults in next steps and groups. They will shepherd and develop campus point leaders, build support teams, and help strategize vision for areas including but not limited to: Care, Groups, Prayer, Pastoral Requests, Benevolence, Visitation, and Counseling. This position requires a wide range of relational, computer, administrative and clerical duties and may require leading on different campuses for periods of time.

This position is connected to the faith and ministry of the church and moves forward the vision of Central Christian Church.

  • Lead Execution of Groups & Care Ministry
    • Work with Lead Groups Pastor to champion adult ministries, next steps, and groups.
    • Work with Campus Pastors to build teams across Centrals campuses to lead Care related ministries.
    • Work with Campus Pastors to identify Care Groups to meet felt needs on campuses.
    • Build and grow a recovery/12 steps ministry.
    • Meet with leaders for care and development.
    • Monitor group connection requests in database.
    • Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers to expand the impact of the Groups ministry.
  • Pastoral Care, Prayer & Counseling Requests
    • Develop and follow system of intake requests, communicate with applicants, send resources, refer to groups/counselors or pastors as necessary.
    • Oversee staff and volunteer teams who support memorial and weddings and assist when necessary
  • Pastoral Care Training
    • Provide training to staff, leaders, and volunteers on Central processes regarding Care, Prayer, Benevolence and other Care related topics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Takes action that goes beyond job requirements in order to achieve Centrals objectives.

    • Accepts responsibility to grow spiritually, emotionally and intellectually; sets personal goals to continue learning in order to know scripture, cultural awareness and confidence in leadership.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 3 years prior ministry experience, vocational or volunteer.
  • Recent leadership experience of leading staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to administrate.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
  • Must be proficient in MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word and proficient in the application of Social Media.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk sit; use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear;. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
