Job Description

This position is located in Fresno, CA, and will require in-office attendance

This position is responsible for some accounting and administrative operations of the company, including the production of weekly payroll, and maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records; as well as properly codes, posts, and accumulating information to prepare all necessary reports, while also maintaining proper confidentiality and security.

So compensation would be based on experience


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Core Duties:

  • Produces weekly payroll and certified payroll in a timely manner.

  • Handles monthly bank reconciliation of multiple accounts.

  • Ensures project cost and billing accounting is accurate.

  • Creates and review service billing invoicing.

  • Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close.

  • Assists with journal entry preparation and other general ledger accounting functions.

  • Handles finance related communications by email, phone, and mail.

  • Provides a backup for the telephone and processing basic service calls

  • Performs any other administrative or accounting-related duties as assigned or as needed.

  • A.A. or B.A. in Accounting preferred; may substitute two years or more work experience using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as bookkeeping systems, MS Word, and MS Excel.

  • Must be able to effectively handle deadline pressure, conflict, and other stressful business situations.

  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.

  • Must work well within a team, and demonstrate teamwork through his/her attitude, actions, and communication

  • Works well independently, but must also have ability to follow instructions and demonstrate a willingness to learn

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work with diverse groups.

  • Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.

  • Valid California Driver License.

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit while carrying out job duties.

  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to reach, grasp, keyboard, and file.

  • On occasion must be able to stoop, bend and climb.

  • Must have visual acuity for reading paperwork, spreadsheets, and other electronic documents.

  • Must be able to lift objects up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Although most work is performed inside an office setting, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
